Welcome

  • "In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort."  The Hobbit Chapter 1

  • I love The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings books and movies.  I had run across a blog where someone had made an amazing miniature Bag End.  Found here.  I am crafty and wondered why can't I do something like that?  So I thought about it and decided I wanted to make my own dollhouse miniature Bag End.  I made this blog to share my progress if you want to follow along.  I will warn you, it will be a long journey as I am in no real hurry and I am learning everything as I go.  Since Bilbo's little house is so different from a 'normal' house, most stuff will probably be handmade.  Any tips and critiques will be welcomed.

I haven't built the structure yet and am still settling on blueprints and materials.   It will not be exactly as described in the book as a to scale model would be HUGE and I dont have the time/ money/ space for that.  It will be a mix between the movies and book representations.
